CAIRO – 10 September 2017: The world lost two country music legends Don Williams and Troy Gentry on September 8.
Don Williams died after a short illness at the age of 78. He was retired and stopped touring in 2016.
Williams was known as the gentle giant due to his ease.
He had 17 number one hits in the U.S., including “Gypsy Woman”, “Tulsa Time”, “I believe in You” and “I Wouldn’t Want to Live if You Didn’t Love Me”.
Another country legend that passed away is Troy Gentry in a helicopter crash. Gentry passed away at the age of 50.
Gentry was a member of the Montgomery Gentry country band that has five number one hits.
The Big and Rich country music duo posted a tribute on their official Twitter page. “Two legends lost at once. Troy Gentry and Don Williams will be missed so much. Praying for their families and may they rest in peace.”
