CAIRO – 8 September 2017: Participating in the upcoming Jesuit Film Festival, American Drama short film Zaar tackles aspects of the Middle East and the notion of terrorism within 12 minutes.

The film revolves around the story of a Middle-Eastern man who prepares for a suicidal terrorist attack.

He interacts with the innocent people around him. This makes him rethink his decision.

Directed by Ibrahim Nada, the film was written by Kevin Easley and Nada and is starring Kaveh Kavian, Alexis Michele, Amielynn Abellera, and Noelle Toland.

The film participated in a big number of international festivals that praised its plot, storytelling techniques, acting and production.

It won different awards around the world as Festival Award for Best Drama Short Film at Atlana ShortsFest 2016, Jury Prize for Best Actor and for Best College Filmmaker award in San Antonio Film Festival 2016.

It also won with Best Short award for Best Short Film at Arpa International Film Festival 2016.


Zaar also won the best student short film at the Oscar Qualifying Film Festival Cleveland International Film Festival 2017.

Ibrahim Nada won Best Director in 2017 DIY Film Fest in 2017.

The film will participate in the 4th edition of Jesuit Film Festival, Cairo, Egypt. Jesuit Film Festival will kick off on Saturday.
