CAIRO – 7 September 2017: Egypt's Supreme Council of Culture has launched a photography contest, which is focused on local photography by youth.
The contest was announced by Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Culture Hatem Rabie. Subjects included in the contest are 'freedom', architecture, and visions of nature.
According to Rabie, the contest focuses on how photography allows anyone to show what's around them in a distinct way, and that now with mobile phones, every child has the potential to be a brilliant photographer. Contestants should be Egyptian nationals between the ages of 4 to 18. Winners will be awarded gold or silver medals depending on their photographs.
The deadline for the competition is January 2018.
