Thriller film “the Neon Demon” to screen at Balcon Heliopolis

CAIRO – 6 September 2017: The French-Danish film ‘The Neon Demon’ (2016) will screen at Balcon Heliopolis on Friday.

Directed and written by Nicolas Winding Refn, the drama/thriller film revolves around Jesse, who moves to Los Angeles at the age of 16 to pursue a modeling career. She struggles to rise in her career as she is challenged by vixen-like competitors who envy her fresh face and youth.

The ambitious teen is overwhelmed as she enters the fashion world, and her personality develops as she defeats her rivals.

Released in Germany, the film stars Keanu Reeves, Elle Fanning, and Christina Hendricks. Neon Demon won several awards including the Atlanta Film Critics Society Awards in 2016, the BloodGuts UK Horror Awards in 2016, and the Best Composer Award for Cannes Film Festival, among others.

The film was also nominated for the Austin Film Critics Association in 2016, the Palme D’Or award at the Cannes Film Festival, the Queer Palm award, the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards, among other nominations.
