Masrah Masr ends Eid season on Tuesday

CAIRO - 5 September 2017: The famous Egyptian troupe Masarah Masr (Egypt Theatre) started its new season on the first day of Eid al-Adha in Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The troupe perform on Tuesday, their last play in the season in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Masrah Masr is considered a unique successful theatrical experience led by well-known Egyptian actor Ashraf Abdel Baky, presenting every week a new single act play written and directed by Nader Salah el-Din.

Abdel Baky previously said that when Masrah Masr was launched the idea of mainly relying on new actors was his brainchild. Abdel Baky added that people at the beginning thought he was crazy to take such a risk

However, he stresses that he and his team always comply with theater rules. Affirming that he deals with his troupe members as his sons, Abdel Baky pointing out that each one of them is distinguished in his own way. The new faces presented by Abdel Baky from years ago have all become super stars. “Masrah Mas”r members, beside Abdel Baky, are Ali Rabie, Mostafa Khater, Hamdy el Marghany, Mohamed Osama (Osos), Dina Mohasen (Wizoo), Esraa Abdel Fattah among others.
