‘Comedia Awdeeb’ theater show to screen on September 21

CAIRO- 31 August 2017: ‘Comedia Awdeeb’ theater play will be showing on September 21 at Hosabeer theater.

‘Comedia Awdeeb’ is a satirical adaptation of the Greek tragedy ’Oedipus Rex’ written by Sophocles. The theater show is an Egyptian adaptation of ‘Oedipus Rex’.

Directed and rewritten by Mahmoud El-Naggar, the play is starring Abdulrhman EL Sehamy, Mohamed Hamdi, Sarah Eid, Omar Abdulrhman, Kariem Ezzat, Mohamed Galal, Nahla Galal, Yussef Mohsen, Ahmed Gamal El-Dean, Ali Esmeal, Bardess Khaled, Toqaa Mohamed, Ahmed Emad, Seif El-Dean Montaser, Abdullah Diab, and Abdulrhman Gamal.

The Greek tragedy ‘Oedipus Rex’ revolves around the plague. Oedipus asked about the cause of the plague and finds out that it is a punishment inflicted on the people because he has not avenged the Murder of King Laius.
