General Authority for National Library releases new historic books

CAIRO – 29 August 2017: The General Authority for National Library and Archives at the Ministry of Culture has republished the book “The Gift of Abdel Kasser to King Nasser bin el-Saadat bin Quatbay” written by the late writer Abdel Samad bin Yahya bin Ahmed Al-Saleh.

This book is one of the heritage letter series and was released by the Heritage Achievements Center.

This book is one of the letters in which religious scholars or politicians give advice to caliphates or Sultans after praising them for their virtues to rule justly, secure roads, and construct fortes and castles.

These writings are valuable because they present Islamic heritage, morals, wisdom, philosophy and politics; therefore, they are used to study Islamic history and principles.
Despite its small size, the majority of the content of this letter tackles taxes that the Mamluk rulers imposed on the citizens of Egypt and the Levant Countries.
