Profile: Finoon Oud and Guitar Orchestra (FOGO)

CAIRO – 27 August 2017: Egypt Today is shedding light on a rising talent in the Egyptian music scene, Finoon Oud and Guitar Orchestra.

The Orchestra was founded in 2015 by the Director of Finoon Arts Center Ahmed Serag, and conducted by Cesar Mora. It can be considered as a semi-professional orchestra.
FOGO consists of 24 players on Ouds and Guitars.

They perform a number of classical, Latin, and Spanish pieces. They have also performed in different venues such as, Darb 1718, The Italian Institute in Cairo, El Rab3 and Heliopolis Library.

Last year, the orchestra performed more than 8 times. In 2016, they performed in a program called ‘Pictures from the World,’ and in 2017, they also performed in a program entitled ‘European Lights.’

The band’s music aims to relieve and comfort the audience and assist them in the transformation of their minds and souls to better worlds.

‘Guitar Night’ was the latest FOGO concert. It was held at Finoon Arts Center on August 24.
