‘Win the War’ to be performed at Dawar on Sept. 13

CAIRO – 27 August 2017: The Guatemalan artist Sayda Trujillo will give a solo performance titled ‘Win the War or Tell Me a Story’ on September 13 at Dawar Center.

The show is based on different movements of the body; each movement reflecting a certain story.

The main theme of the performance looks into the effects of war on people. Trujillo will tackle two main wars: the national war in her homeland and the Palestinian – Israeli conflicts.

She also highlights a number of universal themes using her voice.

‘Win the War or Tell Me a Story’ is performed by Sayda Trujillo, directed by Jessica Wallenfels and music played by Mohamed Samy Negm.

Trujillo is an actress, and theatre maker/ educator. She is specializing in voice and physical movement of the body.

She performed in many countries like Spain, Singapore, Germany, Palestine and the UK.

Her three solo shows ‘Banana Leaves,’ ‘Definitely Oops,’ and ‘I Was Raised a Mexican’ were performed nationally and internationally.
