2014 Mawaweel Festival closes out Ramadan with a host of cultural activities
Darb 1718 Contemporary Art & Culture Center is hosting the fourth annual Mawaweel Festival as an “alternative Ramadan experience” during the last two consecutive weekends in Ramadan. Organized by the Cairo Jazz Club Agency and Darb 1718, the festival offers a program full of art exhibitions, theatre, music, folkloric performances, short film screenings, interactive arts and crafts and bazaars.
Thursday, July 17:

9:30 p.m. - Short film screening "Om Amira" by Naji Ismail, 25 min, Egypt.
10:00 p.m. - Hawidro Band: Afro Egyptian
11:30 p.m. - Ghalia Benali: Neo-Tarab Soul

9:00 p.m. - Tanoura: Folkloric Arts
10:00 p.m. - ِSheikh Ahmed Al Agamy: Sufi Chants

11:00 p.m. - Meshwar Band: Egyptian Reggae
Tickets are LE 40, with children under age 12 admitted free.
