CAIRO – 24 August 2017: August 24 is the 29th birthday of UK actor Rupert Grint, best known for portraying Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film franchise.
Grint was born in England, 1988, the eldest of five children. At the young age of 11, he managed to successfully audition for the role of Ron Weasley in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone’ and has worn the role for over ten years, growing alongside the cast and characters as millions worldwide would associate him with the beloved book series.
Unlike his Potter co-stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, Grint did not follow the life of stardom, choosing to go for odd jobs and smaller roles instead. He worked as an ice cream truck driver following the final Harry Potter film, a childhood dream of his. It has only been in recent years that he has decided to return to film acting.
Amongst his more recent roles, Grint co-starred in ‘Hellboy’ and ‘Pacific Rim's’ Ron Perlman in the 2015 conspiracy comedy 'Moonwalkers'. Grint is currently part of an upcoming TV series titled, 'Sick Note', which will feature Lindsey Lohan as well.
