Visual arts gallery and competition to be held at Medrar

CAIRO - 23 August 2017: Medrar opens its doors for participation in ‘Roznama’ competition and visual arts gallery which will take place on November 2017 in Medrar and co-working space of Mashrabia Gallery.

‘Roznama’ is a competition for modern visual arts of Egyptian youth artists organized by Medrar for modern art in cooperation with Al-Tawos art center.

It aims to encourage the creative works of youth under 30 years through lighting the featured ones using all art means.

The awards of competition are accommodation for 3 months in Paris awarded by Cité Internationale des Arts (French Institute for Arts), and accommodation in Switzerland awarded by Pro Helvetia (Swiss culture organization). In addition to monetary prizes from leading artists that amount to LE 15,000 L.E, LE 10,000 , two awards valued at LE 5000, an exhibition for two of the winners in Soma gallery.

Accommodation awards cover all logistic spending.

Medrar is a stage for artists seeking to have extensive conversations and collaborations with their peers to develop their purpose as active contemporary artists.
