Women Video Artists in FemLink Art- Official Facebook Page
CAIRO - 22 August 2017: FemLink-Art, the International Video-Artists Collective, will present a video-collage at Medrar on Thursday, August 24 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
The first series exhibition of FemLink-Art was launched in 2005 by an American Intermedia artist C.M. Judge along with French video artist, Véronique Sapin.
It aims to encourage multicultural awareness and inspire the idea of the power of women’s art by releasing a video collage that contains 30 videos performed by 30 female artists from 30 countries in 62 min, where each video artist from each country creates a two-minute video for FemLink around a common topic.
It seeks to provide a forum for women to link the different visions of different women aware of the limitations placed on female artists all over the world. FemLink cooperates with UNESCO to provide training for talented and emerging female video artists especially those living in developing countries.
149 video artists from 64 countries form FemLink-Art producing 10 video collages with more than 250 videos.
