CAIRO – 21 August 2017: The famous Egyptian singer Khaled Selim will perform on Wednesday, August 23 at 10 p.m. in Salah El Din Citadel Festival.
Selim will present a collection of his successful songs such as, ‘Wala Leila Wala Youm’ (Not a Night a Day), ‘Helm Omry’ (The Dream of My Life), ‘Alam Tany’ (Another World) and ‘Balash El Malama’ (Don’t Blame), in addition to a number of old famous songs by great singers like Abdel Halim Hafez and Mohamed Abdel Wahab.
The Festival concerts have been well attended since they kicked off. The concert of the popular Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad was attended by over 7000. Concerts for renowned Tunisian singer Ghalia bin Ali and well-known Egyptian singer Nesma Mahgoub also attracted large numbers of their fans.
The affordable price of the concerts’ tickets, which is LE 10 ($0.56) made it easier for a larger number of their audiences to attend the concerts.
Previously, the opening ceremony which took place on Saturday, August 12 in Salah El Din Citadel, was attended by the Minister of Culture Helmy Namnam, along with Enas Abdel Dayem, head of Cairo Opera House.
The Festival program includes a lot of performances like Spanish folklore by Mona Burkhard, music by Ali al-Helbawi, Wave Jazz Band, Glass Onion, Sufi Egyptian band Mawlawi, Boghdady Jazz Band, musician Fathi Salama, and Solo Opera by Orchestra El Nile (Nile Orchestra).
The Festival houses classical performances by Rola Zaki and Amr Yehia conducted by Mohamed Saad Basha, with music by Nesma Abdel Aziz, Tunisian artist Ghalia bin Ali and renowned Egyptian singer Medhat Saleh, among others.
