Tech-myth video art screening at Medrar

CAIRO- 19 August 2017: Medrar for Contemporary Art will be screening the production of the outcome of their Video Art and Experimental Film workshop on August 20.

The Tech-Myth workshop was held in collaboration with the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) and facilitated by Mohamed Abdelkarim and Anne Haaning. It took place on April 3 until May 7.

Amongst the participants are Ahmed El Shaer, Eman Zahran, Hend Moaz, Muhammed Taymour, Neviene Emam, Sammy Sayed, Samuel Nashaat and Soheir Sharara.

The workshop examined the theme of myths and technology and their interconnection.

A myth is a concept that deviates from the cultural definition of the norm that is based on specific rational and scientific evidence. On the other hand, technology breaks the boundaries of reality by manipulating and reproducing it with the aim of reinterpreting it.
