CAIRO – 18 August 2017: The Egyptian mega star actor Mohamed Ramadan posted on his official Facebook page the first photo from his latest film called El Kenz (The Treasure).
In the picture, Ramadan appeared with long hair, moustache, beard and wearing old style outfits. His character is called Aly El Zabaq.
Ramadan fans engaged with the photo, expressing their sincere hopes that the film will succeed. Fans were eagerly awaiting the movie.
El kenz is the latest movie directed by Sherif Arafa and written by Abdel Rahman Kamal.
The administration of the Cairo International Film Festival, which will take place in the Opera House from November 21-30, have asked the makers of the movie to participate in the event. Rumors are currently circulating that El Kenz is slated for the top spot and will open the world-famous film festival.
There is no doubt that El Kenz is the most suitable film to open the festival because the presentation of Egypt’s history lies at its core. The storyline spans the Pharaonic, Abbasid, Ottoman and modern period of the country, ending in the 1970s. The movie revolves around the corruption and how some religious men impose their authority over politics, as well as the issues related to mixing religion with politics.
It is also directed by one of the most important directors in Egypt who is renowned for his captivating stories and good quality films. The movie includes a dazzling cast of Egyptian superstars and actors beside Ramadan such as Sawsan Badr, Mohy Ismail, Mohamed Saad, Hend Sabry and Ahmed Rezk.
