CAIRO –16 August 2017: Egyptian trending Rock bands Shawareana and Karakeeb will be performing live on August 19 at Bibliotheca Alexandria (BA) Arts center’s open theater. They will perform as part of the 15th ongoing International Summer Festival.
Shawareana has been participating in Arabs Got Talent Show for 2 years. The band formed in 2009 and introduced a detailed satirical image of the Egyptian society through oriental rock music and acting performances.
This year, the band celebrated its new album entitled Dakhel ala Al Talateen (Approaching Thirties).
The ambitious rock band consists of Mohamed Amin, Sameh Rafik, Ahmed al-Leithy, Emad Dawoud, and Amir al-Saidi.
Karakeeb was established in Alexandria in 2012, and released popular hits, such as Om Al Shaheed (Mother of the Martyr), and Rawa’ Balak (Calm Down).
The band has also shared the stage with a number of leading Egyptian singers. They tackle a number of political and social issues through their Pop Rock tunes intertwined in Arabic lyrics. Karakeeb comprises Alaa al-Qady, Morad Soukar, Maged Mohamed, Shrief Ghaly, and John.
The 15th annual BA Arts Summer Festival started from July 10 and lasts until August 26. This year’s festival contains music, theater, cinema and dance.
