Ganoub El-Wadi to perform at International Summer Festival

CAIRO - 15 August 2017: ‘Ganoub El-Wadi’ Troupe for Nubian and African Dance will perform a concert on Sunday, August 20, at 15th International Summer Festival held in Bibliotheca Alexandria at 8:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

The band will present Nubian, Sudanese and African songs. In addition, the singer from Aswan Ahmed el-Sherif will be hosted in its concert.

‘Ganoub El-Wadi’ Troupe includes Nubian youth from Alexandria and Aswan aiming to revive Nubian and Sudanese art and heritage by performing Nubian and African Dance.

The 15th Summer Festival program will host various concerts featuring several prominent Egyptian stars such as Ali el-Haggar, Hany Shaker and Hanan Mady.

Egyptian mega star and Alexandria native, Angham will give a concert to conclude the festival on Wednesday, August 26.

The International Summer Festival is a massive music and arts event organized by the BA Arts Center with the goal of adding a “colorful taste” to summers in Alexandria, as explained in their mission statement. Attracting a diverse audience through its combination of classical Egyptian art, new and varied mediums of art and music, and the 2017 edition will house more than 60 versatile artistic events, including music, theatre, cinema and dance.
