CAIRO- 15 August 2017: The director of the film Sheikh Jackson, Amr Salama, announced through his Facebook and Twitter pages that the official international trailer is now out.
The film revolves around a student who loves Michael Jackson's songs and imitates him in almost everything. This student has a strong relationship with a Salafi, which reflects the contradictions in his life. At the end of the film this student decides to go on an inner Sufi quest and look for answers to his existential questions.
The film’s poster was revealed last May by the production. It shows the protagonist, played by Fishawy, dressed as a Salafi sheikh and posed in a Micheal Jackson dance move, wearing the famous signature hat of the king of pop.
The film stars Majid al-Kadwani, Dorra, Ahmed Malik, Amina Khalil and Hazem Sharif. Sheikh Jackson was produced by Hisham Abdel-Khaliq and Mohamed Hafezy and written by Amr Salama and Omar Khaled, and directed by Amr Salama.
After being screened at Cannes and Toronto prestigious film festivals earlier this year, Sheikh Jackson will be the opening movie of el-Gouna Film Festival in its first edition that will take place on September 22-29.
