Arab rock band Ka'b Dayer to stage Makan Tuesday

CAIRO – 13 August 2017: Egyptian band Ka'b Dayer will be staging the Egyptian Center for Culture and Arts (Makan) on August 15 to perform a blend of oriental and western music.

Established in 2015, the band plays Arabic rock music and is known for introducing new topics and lyrics revolving around essential societal issues, according to the event’s official Facebook page.

The band is comprised of Amr al-Taweel, Islam Allam, Remon William, and Hossam Mohamed.

Government-owned culture venue, Makan aims at promoting traditional music and Egyptian artists and opening a door to introduce the country and sub-Saharan African cultures, encouraging a diversity of Egyptian arts.

The venue also aims to revive the essential role played by music in daily life and re-introducing it in new contexts highlighting that music is a source for creativity.
