Mobile libraries inaugurated in Al-Azhar Park

CAIRO – 11 August 2017: The Minister of Culture Helmy Al- Namnam and Cairo governor Atef Abdel Hamid inaugurated several mobile libraries in Al-Azhar Park on Thursday, August 10 as it is visited annually by millions of people.

To face terrorism with culture, the libraries include many books fighting the ideology of terrorism.

The libraries will be transferred by vehicles toother major squares soon to expand the culture of reading among passersby to increase their awareness and to deliver culture to citizens everywhere.

Thelibraries are not not only for books, but also include workshops to teach children different skills to help them discover their talents.

After six years of suspension, the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture reopened the mobile libraries project, on July 16, and organized by General Authority for National Library & Archives in Egypt, owned by the Ministry of Culture since 1984.
