CAIRO – 10 August 2017: Dr. Mostfa al-Feki, The director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina met with members of the Coptic Heritage Lovers Society (CHLS) Wednesday, August 9, to discuss extremism, terrorism, hate mobs and what could be done about these issues.
The CHLS was founded in 1998 in order to bring better public awareness about Egypt's Coptic heritage and its contributions to Egyptian culture.
Feki stated his belief that the BA's purpose is to bring dialogues on culture and respect to the public, and to use education to combat ignorant, hateful beliefs. The BA is set to host various dialogues involving members of the Egyptian public, particularly the young, to discuss issues affecting Egypt.
The CHLS has been cooperating with the BA since 2012. At the end of yesterday's conference, the BA announced the opening of the BA Center for Coptic Studies.
