CAIRO – 6 August 2017:Souad Massi, the Algerian singer is preparing one of her biggest music a concert in North Coast accompanied by a classical orchestra for the first time. The concert is to take place on RMC’s stage next Friday, according to a press release.
Massi has prepared many musical surprises for the concert which brings her back to Egypt after 4 months since her last concert. This will be the first time for Massi to sing accompanied by a large orchestra combining 33 musicians, conducted by Maestro George Kolta, who will be introducing orchestral versions of the best of Massi’s songs for the first time.
Souad Massi comes from a musical family that introduced her to all types of music since a very young age such as Algerian folk music, Rock, American Country and Flamenco, which have all affected her music style significantly since she joined her first band at the age of 17 she then joined an Algerian Rock band called “Atakor” and had her first album out shortly after. In 2001 she released her Album “Raoui” which became a hit in France and was praised by critics. She now lives with her French- Moroccan Husband and her two daughters in Paris, France.
The Egyptian audience is highly anticipating this concert which brings them Souad back after the great success of her last concert in Egypt in last April which she did with the Egyptian-German band “Cairo Steps”, which was the first time she revealed her project for the best of her songs, only to re-introduce it in a new way in the North Coast with Orchestra.
