Born on June 1, 1926, Monroe hit the Hollywood scene in the mid to late 40s. Unconventional for her time, Monroe was a very controversial figure because she was known as a seductive figure. Monroe's most famous scene is the shoot for ‘The Seven Year Itch,’ where she stood at a subway in a white dress and heels while air was blowing from the air vent to create one of her most iconic photographs. Not only did this photograph increase her popularity, it also took a toll on her marriage with Joe DiMaggio. Monroe had several public affairs, which only augmented her controversy. One of the most famous was with John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK).
