CAIRO – 6 August 2017: Hungarian contemporary dancer Peter Copek will be carrying out contemporary dancing workshop in Cairo Contemporary Dance Center on August 7, 8, and 9.

The short intensive workshop will feature a combination of improvised technical and physical production, according to the event’s official Facebook page. The class will also portray different mind and body trainings through diverse formats, focusing on sensitivity and awareness.

Born in Budapest, Copek has pursued his dancing education when he was 12 years of age and continued at the School of Dance and Visual Arts in Gyor. He joined the Hungarian Art of Movement Company in Budapest, where he became a dancer and a teacher.

He also attained a dancing education in Codarts University of Arts in Rotterdam and worked with several choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Marco Goecke, Andre Gingras, and Amos Ben Tal.

Copek is currently carrying out a project in Deutsche Tanzkompanie in Neustrelit that he began in 2015, according to his official website.

He recently worked on a video project with two of his artist colleagues Beatriz Gijon and Nora Paneva, where he tried for the first time to produce a real dance short move that features philosophical and ritual aspects portrayed in the relation between light and darkness. The music is Die Form played by Dark Wave Band.
