CAIRO – 5 August 2017: UAE artist and royal family member, Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi who will exhibit ‘Love and Peace, Letters with Ink and Paper’, that has opened on July 22 and will run until August 18 in London.
The free-entry exhibition will be showcasing 20 of her artworks in London's Saatchi Gallery. Al Suwaidi’s first ever exhibition, titled ' "Fatima of Love and Peace" was held in the UAE last December.
Al Suwaidi is also wife of the UAE's national security advisor Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is once again putting her skills in calligraphy on display as part of her effort to help spread Arab art internationally.
A fine poet, Khawla's works concern the topic of peace and love between all humanity, which is especially relevant given current tensions between the Middle East and the international community.
She uses her decade of experience with 'Diwani' calligraphy to craft beautiful poems and verses about virtues such as modesty and mercy, amongst others.
She is also known for incorporating international elements, such as putting Iranian illustrations in British frames, as a way of symbolizing global unity.
