CAIRO - 1 August 2017: Usain Bolt, hailed as the “World's fastest man,” has recently got a new documentary titled ‘I Am Bolt,’ which aired on July 31, which explores his training in the two years before the 2016 Rio Olympics. Moments of his first triumphant win at age 15 are also shown, to remind viewers of the fastest living man's roots.
The documentary was created by British filmmaking brother duo Benjamin and Gabe Turner, who went to great lengths to follow the legendary Bolt for two years, documenting even his moments of weakness, such as insomnia, or his secret trip to visit an orthopedic expert in Frankfurt.
A subplot about Bolt's crisis of motivation during the athlete’s training for Rio provides tension, and we see that it is Bolt's competitive spirit and will to prove naysayers wrong that keeps him running, no matter what.
'I Am Bolt' aired on BBC1.
