CAIRO – 31 July 2017: A museum regarding the case of O.J Simpson, former NFL turned accused murderer, has drawn criticism by those who believe that Simpson should not be glorified. The ‘O.J. Simpson Museum,’ will be a temporary pop-up exhibition, set to run from August 18 to 22 at the Coagula Curatorial in LA's Chinatown district.

As the Los Angeles Times reports, Mat Gleason, owner of the Coagula Curatorial, defends the Museum by describing it less about OJ Simpson and more about the cult of personality that has grown around the highly publicized murder trial, which turned the crime into a nation-wide spectacle. Telling the LA Times, Gleasan is quoted as saying; “There are people to this day that say O.J. is innocent — not me — but it’s an obsession among Americans."

"All this stuff, this is the art of the people, the visual language of the common man.”
The museum will display more than 300 items related to Simpson, including a replica of his #32 Jersey, a reminder of simpler times when he was known as "The Juice," a beloved NFL player, rather than the center of a massive controversy in America, after he was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman in June 12, 1994; and more recently convicted for supposed robbery in September 13, 2007.
He is expected to go on parole in October of this year.
