Alhadraa Sufi band to perform special concerts

CAIRO – 31 July 2017: Sufi band Alhadraa will perform at both Romany Theater in Alexandria and Cairo Opera House on Saturday and Wednesday, respectively.

Alhadraa band will participate in Opera Summer Festival at Romany Theater on Saturday, August 5 at 8:30 p.m.

It will also perform a special concert at Cairo Opera House featuring Awtar Quartet for the third time, mixing oriental Sufi music and classical strings, on Wednesday, August 9 at the Open Air Theater.

Alhadraa, founded in May 2015, is famous for its spiritual music transferring all the heritage of Egyptian Sufi music and all prophetic praises and chanting.

At the same time, Awtar Quartet, founded in 2012, is a professional string quartet based in Cairo and famous for its various musical styles, including classical, Arabic, easy listening, tango, jazz, waltz and pop.

Culture Minister Helmy el-Namnam inaugurated the Opera Summer Festival in Sayed Darwish Hall in Alexandria Opera House on July 23.
