CAIRO – 27 July 2017: Culture Minister Helmy el-Namnam honors Egyptian writer Lenin el-Ramly for his ambitious body of work across the years in theater, directing, writing, and screenwriting, according to a released statement by the ministry on Thursday.

This comes as part of an honoring ceremony held for Ramly that was organized by the National Center for Music, Theater and Folklore at the National Theater.

Ramly has always worked on raising community awareness though tackling social and patriotic causes by presenting vivid criticism in vibrant works.

Described as the ‘Philosopher’ of Egyptian Theater, Ramly always writes the script and attends all the theater rehearsals until it is displayed live to the audience; he also sought to discover rising talents.

Ramly proceeded his career in literary theater and theater criticism in 1970 and he also wrote several scripts for many TV shows such as ‘Mabrook Galak Wald’ (Congratulations, you had a boy!) and ‘Forset El Omer’ (Lifetime Chance) among others.
Among the theater performances he composed included ‘Enhom Yaktlon El Hameer’ (They’re killing the donkeys) , and ‘Arba’a Ded Wahed’ (Four Against one), among others.
