CAIRO – 25 July 2017: ‘Luxor…The Culture Capital of the Arab World’ arts exhibition to be officially opened to the masses on Wednesday, in presence of, Khaled Soror, head of the Fine Arts sector.
On Monday, Minister of Culture Helmy el-Namnam inaugurated a 15-day long arts Luxor’s exhibition, in coincidence with the commemorative celebrations for the revolution of 1952.
Every year on July 23, Egypt celebrates the national day of the revolution where a group of army officers led by Muhammad Naguib and Gamal Abdel Nasser seized power and announced victory over King Farouk’s regime, which was blamed for the country’s massive corruption and government’s poor performance.
The exhibition will feature a variety of 75 paintings by Egyptian artists and others coming from different countries.
“This exhibition serves as a form of the strong bonds of solidarity between Arab nations and solidifies the vital role that arts play in development of the Arab identity,” dean of Luxor’s fine Arts faculty, Dr. Ahmed Mohi Hamza said.
