CAIRO – 26 July 2017: Yousra Osmanogl, wife to the heir of the former Ottoman Empire Prince Dündar Al-i Osman Efendi, has passed away at the age of 91 in Damascus, Syria.

She was previously hospitalized and died while being treated, the Daily Sabah reports, with Shahzade Orhan Osmanoğlu, the fourth-generation grandson of Sultan Abdülhamid II telling them that Yousra would be buried in Damascus, her homeland.

She and her husband had seen the Syrian war firsthand since 2011, yet never once left. They lived humbly together in a retirement pension in Mouhajrin, Damascus. The couple had no children.
