A glimpse from ‘Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs’ exhibition.
Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, announced the opening of the temporary archaeological exhibition “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” on March 8 in Tokyo, Japan, which will run until September.
Tokyo will be the sixth international destination for the exhibition.
The “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition includes around 180 artifacts selected from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, dating back to the era of King Ramses II.
Additionally, it features the sarcophagus of King Ramses II from the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, along with other artifacts discovered by the Egyptian mission in the Bubasteion area in Saqqara, and pieces from other Egyptian museums.
These items highlight distinctive characteristics of ancient Egyptian civilization from the Middle Kingdom to the Late Period, through a collection of statues, jewelry, cosmetic tools, stelae, inscribed stone blocks, and colorful wooden coffins.
