Today in Moscow, Media Production City signed a cooperation agreement with Moskino Film City, affiliated with the Moscow Government, to develop film production, establish a joint strategy to support Moscow as a creative city, and exchange expertise.
The agreement aims to position both cities as hubs for fostering film commissions, hosting conferences, workshops, and joint working groups to enhance the film industry between the two countries.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Media Production City by Dr. Hani Abu Al-Hassan, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board for International Cooperation, delegated by Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Gebaly, Chairman and Managing Director.
Representing Moskino Film City was Mr. Kosyenko Kirill Gennadievich, General Manager of the Kinopark Foundation, which oversees the management of Moskino Film City.
This major film city, located 50 kilometers southwest of Moscow, spans 11 million square meters and features diverse filming areas, advanced facilities, and modern production services. It was inaugurated in September 2024 by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Mayor of Moscow. Moskino Film City is the largest of its kind, with 25% of its construction completed and full completion expected within three years.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the Moscow International Creativity Week, held under the patronage of Alexei Fursin, Moscow’s Minister of Culture, from December 8-13, 2024, in the Russian capital. The event brought together prominent filmmakers from 11 countries.
The program included bilateral meetings with key representatives from Russia’s renowned cinematic institutions, such as Mosfilm and Gorky Studios, which were established in the early 20th century. These meetings aimed to highlight capabilities, exchange expertise, and foster international collaboration in film production.
Participants also received a detailed presentation on the history, significance, and opportunities offered by Media Production City, including the services provided by the Egypt Film Commission for filming across Egypt using a streamlined one-stop-shop system.
