The closing ceremony of the 45th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival ( CIFF) kicked off with the National Anthem.
The closing ceremony started with a quote from acclaimed Palestinian Poet Mahmoud Darwish followed by a Palestinian Dabke dancing show. “I would like to thank Watan El Fenon Palestinian dancing troupe members who are all from Gaza,” said CIFF Head Hussein Fahmy.
"Welcome to the closing ceremony of the festival. Art has the power to tell stories to those who cherish life. I witnessed immense love and celebration throughout the festival, and as a team, we were filled with joy by every word spoken to us. The remarks made about Palestine and Lebanon were not unfamiliar, as Egypt is the mother of the world and the cradle of Arabism. Egypt is magnificent, with its vibrant art and the talented artists who participated in the festival, all of whom share a deep love for cinema" said the Cairo International Film Festival head Hussein Fahmy.
Fahmy added that Egypt is present in every Arab house with its art. CIFF's head stated that the festival's success is largely due to the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities.
“I would like to thank all our sponsors who are purely Egyptian entities.” Fahmy expressed his satisfaction with the positive reactions received for this edition. “This edition witnessed the signing of several protocols the most important of which is a protocol the Egypt Film Commission signed with the Location Managers Guild International.”
Fahmy stated, "Through the festival, we want to emphasize that cinema is an important source of national income." CIFF head Hussein Fahmy also expressed gratitude to all the festival crew members who contributed to the success of this edition.
“We want to thank the festival head Hussein Fahmy for his major efforts,” said the festival host Jasmine Taha Zaki.
