CAIRO – 25 July 2017: Contemporary Egyptian arts and cultural center Darb 1718 will be hosting a workshop on a rather interesting ancient practice known as 'sound bathing'.
Called 'The HertzTones Sound Bath Workshop,' the event will be held on August 5 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kasr El Shamaa St. Misr El Kadima, Cairo.
Sound baths are an ancient practice where a person is told to lie still while a practitioner plays on gongs or bowls, which release sound waves that calm a nervous mind and allow a stressed person to relax and heal, much like meditation, which goes on for an hour in peaceful, dark environment.
The HertzTones Workshop is run by Eisath Martin, an Italian sound healer who has been living in Egypt for years.
Fees for the workshop are LE 100 ($5.6).
