Ambassador Yasser Shaaban, Assistant Foreign Minister for Cultural Relations, handed over 67 artifacts to a specialized committee at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry in the New Administrative Capital.

Egypt recovered these artifacts from Germany through the Egyptian embassy in Berlin. 

 

 

 

The 67 artifacts belong to several different Egyptian eras. Among the recovered artifacts are the foot and leg of a mummified mummy, two masks, and two murals that were removed from the tomb of Minister Pek An Ren Ef of the 26th dynasty in Saqqara, in addition to a royal bronze statue, as well as a group of small Ushabti statues that were placed in the tombs to perform the deceased's work on his behalf in the afterlife according to ancient Egyptian belief, and bronze statues of the god Osiris, the god of the dead and lord of the afterlife.
