CineGouna Funding Announces Winners of its 7th Edition

CineGouna Funding jury, consisting of Swiss expert Nadia Dresti, Sudanese director and producer Amjad Abu Al-Ala, and Tunisian critic and artistic director Carthage Film Festival Lamia Guiga, and after consulting with the sponsoring companies, distributed 40 valuable awards to 21 projects that competed in the program this year.

Amr Mansi, co-founder and CEO of El Gouna Film Festival, expressed his happiness with the great diversity of awards and their record-breaking total, saying: “The interest of all film and cultural institutions in the region in supporting CineGouna Funding confirms the trust that El Gouna Film Festival has gained from everyone, as it is the place where projects are born and later become great films chosen by major festivals around the world.” 

Ahmed Shawky, Head of CineGouna Funding, spoke about the seventh edition, saying: “During this edition, the filmmakers of the 21 participating projects held 174 individual meetings with companies, institutions and international festivals participating in the festival, and the 40 awards were distributed to all projects, confirming the valuable addition that CineGouna provides to talented filmmakers, whether through direct support or opening horizons for networking and cooperation with everyone who can benefit them.”
