Award-Winning Composer Hesham Nazih to Premiere Live Performance of Iconic Film Scores at GFF

This year, the El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) presents an extraordinary musical experience, featuring the music of some of Egypt's most iconic recent films, brought to life through the compositions of Emmy-nominated composer Hesham Nazih. For the first time ever, Nazih will perform live, in an event during the forthcoming 7th edition of the El Gouna Film Festival (Oct 24 to Nov 1, 2024)  that is scheduled to take place on October 27 at the El Gouna Conference and Culture Center aka The Festival Plaza.

Accompanied by an orchestra conducted by Ahmed Farag, Nazih will revisit the music from several of his most acclaimed films, including Snakes & Ladders ( the film be screened as a special presentation at GFF#2024),  Ibrahim Labyad, The Blue Elephant, and Diamond Dust. This unique experience is powered by Cairo Design District (CDD), the festival’s Official Art & Design Partner, and will blend music, audio-visual arts, and live performances under the theme Cinema in Concert.

Amr Sultan, CEO of the company developing Cairo Design District (CDD), El Gouna Film Festival’s official Art & Design partner and supporter of the concert, expressed his excitement about collaborating with the festival to present the concert of composer Hisham Nazih. Renowned musician Hesham Nazih commented: “The time is always right when you’re up for music! We are planning to make some noise this month! See you in El Gouna!”

Hesham Nazih has composed scores for more than 40 films and TV series, including Marvel's Moon Knight, for which he was nominated for Best Original Score for a Limited Series at the 74th Emmy Awards, one of the most prestigious television awards worldwide. He was also nominated for the World Soundtrack Award and invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which grants the famous Oscars. He was the first musician to receive the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence from the Cairo International Film Festival (2018) in recognition of his distinguished career.
