Anticipation is building as the upcoming fantasy comedy film DRACU RA’s teaser for the song ‘SAHBY’ featuring popular Egyptian folk singer Abdelbaset Hamouda has been released by the film’s leading star Khalid Mansour on his social media page on TikTok ahead of the film’s release in theaters across the MENA region on October 31st.
Tackling the theme of friendship, the song titled ‘SAHBY’ performed by Abdelbaset delves into the strong bond between the two vampire brothers, Ahmose and Ramsis, creatively played by the comedy duo Khalid Mansour and Shadi Alfons.
Prompting us to question how far their latest adventure will test their relationship, the snippets of lyrics reveal how much generosity, understanding, and loyalty significantly strengthen friendships, creating a rare and authentic bond.
Bringing a fresh take on vampires throughout the ages with a comedic twist, DRACU RA follows vampire brothers Ahmose and Ramsis, who lived harmoniously with their coven in ancient times before being hunted by humans and forced into hiding for thousands of years.
Eventually, a chance encounter prompts the two out-of-touch and rusty vampires to go out into 21st-century Egypt.
The film stars the comedy duo Khaled Mansour and Shadi Alfons — who co-wrote the film alongside Mahmoud El-Far and Mina Khouzam. They are joined by Marwan Younis and Ismail Farghaly, and rising stars Malak Badawi, Yara Azmy, Ahmed Talaat, Fares Haddad, and Hany Kandil, along with guest appearances by Noor Kadri and Lebanese actress Dalida Khalil.
DRACU RA is directed by Karim Abuzeid, lensed by Hani Al-Saadawi, edited by Ramez Atef, and produced by Mohamed Abdelwahab and Mohamed Kheir Zeitar of Nilewood Production Studios, which previously produced the horror film AMMAR that featured in the Cairo International Film Festival.
United Brothers Studios, Trend VFX, Arabia Pictures, and Media Life also produced the film, which is distributed in Egypt by United Brothers Studios and worldwide by Empire.
Karim Abouzeid is an Egyptian producer and director who began his career by working in advertising before pivoting to television. In 2022, he directed his debut feature film 11:11 starring Jordanian actor Eyad Nassar; the film streamed on Netflix and released commercially in 10 Arab countries.
As for Khaled Mansour and Shadi Alfons, the comedians are well known for the Arabic version of the satirical comedy TV show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE (SNL) and for appearing on the Golden Globe-winning international series RAMY.
