One of the Hesy-Ra Wooden Panel Collection.
The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir has unveiled a new display of the wooden panels from the mastaba of Hesy-Ra, replicating their original layout within the tomb according to its scientific publication.
This comes after the completion of extensive study and restoration work in collaboration with the French Institute for Oriental Archaeology in Cairo (IFAO).
The panels from Hesy-Ra’s mastaba, dating back to the 3rd Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, are among the most unique wooden collections from ancient Egypt and were discovered in the 19th century AD.
