The Brink of Dreams poster.
Felucca Films has unveiled the official poster of “The Brink of Dreams” directed by Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir, in preparation for its release in Egyptian cinemas on November 6.
The film follows a group of brave young women who decide to form a theater troupe and perform plays inspired by traditional Upper Egyptian folklore. The girls fill the streets of their small village with passion, joy, singing, and dancing, all while dreaming of becoming famous stars despite the challenges they face. The film gives a voice to this new generation of Egyptian youth, providing them with a platform to express their dreams and hopes for the future.
“The Brink of Dreams” showcases the unique talents of the Panorama Barsha Troupe, which includes Magda Masoud, Haidi Sameh, Monika Youssef, Marina Samir, Myriam Nassar, Lydia Haroun, and the troupe's founder, Youstina Samir. The film continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its poignant narrative and evocative performances.
Additionally, the film has recently confirmed its participation in the 60th edition of the Chicago Film Festival, one of the longest-running and most prominent festivals in the United States, taking place this October.
Earlier this year, “The Brink of Dreams” made history by becoming the first Egyptian film to win the prestigious L'Œil d'Or (Golden Eye Award) for Best Documentary Film at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
