Egyptian film “A Nose and Three Eyes”, directed by Amir Ramses, is competing for the Audience Award at the 35th Arab Film Festival in Fameck, scheduled to take place between (3-13) October in northeastern France.

It is the only Egyptian film nominated to compete for this award, as well as 3 films; Algerian director Hassan Jarar’s “Barbès, little Algéri”, French director Jonathan Millet’s “Les fantômes”, and French director Malek Chibani’s “Ma part de gaulois”.

The film is to be screened twice. The first screening is on October 4th, at 8:30 PM, at Cinéma “Victor Hugo”. The second screening will be on October 12th, at 3:00 PM, at SERÉMANGE-ERZANGE cinema.

Director Ramses expressed his gladness at the screening of his most recent film at the Fameck Arab Film Festival. Ramses stated, “I’m glad to take part in such prestigious festival for the first time and present “A Nose and Three Eyes” to the French audience”.

Moreover, it is not the first time for the film to compete for the Audience Award. The film had previously won it after being screened in the 14th Malmö Arab Film Festival, as part of the feature films’ official competition. Back then, director Ramses mentioned that he was so pleased with the award and that “the Audience Award has a special impact in his heart”.

The film’s world premiere was held at the third Red Sea Film Festival in KSA. It also took part in the feature films’ official competition in the eleventh Muscat Film Festival, as well as the Abu Dhabi Book Fair, under the title “‘A Nose and Three Eyes’: From Novel to Cinema”.

“A Nose and Three Eyes” stars Dhaffer L’Abidine, Saba Mubarak, Salma Abu-Deif, Amina Khalil -as a guest star-, Gihan El-Shamashergy, Sedky Sakhr, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Nabil Maher, Nour Mahmoud, Noura Shaisha, Karima Mansour, Ramzy El-Adl, Hassan El-Adl, and the young actor Selim Mustafa.

The film is based on a novel by iconic writer Ihsan Abdel Quddous. In 1972, it was released as a film named “A Nose and Three Eyes”, starring Mahmoud Yassin, Magda, and Naglaa Fathy. After over half a century, Shahnaz El-Akkad’s production company decided to present the film in a contemporary way, in collaboration with screenwriter Wael Hamdy.
