The Warner Bros. film "Beetlejuice" is nearing second place in the September box office race, adding $24.75 million in its third week of release, a 52% increase across 4,172 theaters, along with $6.75 million last Friday.

According to a report from Deadline, "Beetlejuice" is expected to reach a total gross of $225.6 million by Sunday, making it the second-highest September release ever at the domestic box office, behind 2017's "It," which grossed $328.8 million, and ahead of Disney/Marvel's 2021 film "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," which earned $224.5 million.

In another note, "Deadpool & Wolverine," starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has reached a global box office total of $1.291 billion since its release on July 26. The earnings are split between $617.695 million in the U.S. box office and $673.902 million internationally.
