The Egyptian Embassy in the Hague retrieved three ancient artifacts that were illegally smuggled out of Egypt.

The fruitful cooperation between Egyptian and Dutch authorities played a pivotal role in retrieving these artifacts.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Office of the Public Prosecutor, collaborated with Dutch counterparts to bring the artifacts back to Egypt.

The retrieved artifacts are a blue ceramic Ushabti statue with inscriptions, a coffin fragment decorated with carvings of the goddess Isis, and a mummy's head that is remarkably well-preserved.

The investigations proved that the artifacts were extracted through illegal excavation.
Since 2014, Egypt has received over 30,000 artifacts as part of its massive campaign to recover and safeguard its cultural heritage.
