CAIRO – 24 July 2017: Egyptian folk band Fatma Adel Troupe will be performing live at Room art & Space Café on July 28.

Audiences, who can book their tickets at e7gezly, will be exposed to a range of music of folk, holy, and dramatic songs. The band comprises of Fatma Adel as vocalist, Islam Awad on Oud, Islam Rabea on Percussion, Mido on Percussion, and Ibrahim on Rababa.

Egypt features various types of folklore music and is known for performing a crucial role in achieving history. One of these types is called Sayyidi, which resonates from the Upper Nile Valley, according to an article released by World Music.

Another type of folk is Sawahli, which resonates from coastal areas in the country and uses a musical instrument called Simsimaya, which is similar to a guitar and mismark, which is a twin-pipe clarinet. It was originally created by the nomads who walked through the deserts of Egypt.

Nubian music is another color of Egyptian folk music which originates from the African south of Egypt and has developed by blending over the years by blending jazz; Mohamed Mounir is a prominent singer who mirrors the different paths of Nubian music.
