The opening ceremony of the Nabta Children’s Festival took place on Thursday under the umbrella of the New Alamein Festival. The opening ceremony started with a short video about the most prominent works presented to the child, offering tributes to Samir Ghanem, Najwa Ibrahim, the singer Mohamed Fawzi, and several artists who presented works for the child.
The festival showed a documentary film about the late veteran artist Shawky Hegab, and Ahmed Amin, the festival’s president, honored Hegab, the honor accolade was received by his wife, Mrs. Nahla, who thanked the festival, the United Media Services Company, and the festival’s president, Ahmed Amin, and confirmed that Amin told her that Hegab supported him at the beginning of his career.
Egyptian star Shaimaa Seif presented an impressive sketch in Nabta’s opening ceremony. The sketch dealt with the importance of what the child is hearing nowadays, whether inappropriate songs or other content not intended for children.
She also paid tribute to the acclaimed singer Mohamed Tharwat, who was attending the festival, by singing his famous song “ Ya Teyour El Nawrass” which Tharwat presented to the children.
Jean Ramez and Lavina Nader, presented a sketch about children’s content at the Nabta Children’s Festival which addressed the importance of the content provided to children.
Renowned Egyptian actress Salwa Mohamed Ali, presented a documentary film about the history of animation in Egypt with her voice, starting with the Frankel brothers, where they presented the character Mishmish Effendi. The film dealt with the development of animation, all the way to the animation series nowadays.
Ahmed Amin, head of the festival, said that the new generations are lucky with the development that has occurred in the world of technology, stressing that he currently cannot explain to the children how he was waiting for television to be opened because they do not know that television in the past had a time to start broadcasting and a time to end, not as is happening now.
At the opening ceremony of the Nabta Children’s Festival, Egyptian star Hisham Maged presented a sketch titled “Kalminy Masry”. It was a sketch that dealt with the importance of adhering to the Egyptian dialect, speaking Egyptian, to preserve our identity.
Maged said that he is happy because the Nabta Festival is dedicated to children, thanking the United Media Services Company and the Nabta Festival, announcing that the festival will be held every summer in different governorates.
Maged mentioned that he had a strong attachment to cartoon characters when he was a child. He also announced that there would be a children’s series that is entirely Egyptian, with the character Kiko, the mascot of the Nabta Festival, as the hero.
