CAIRO – 29 July 2024: The Nabta Kids’ Festival activities will be launched during the New Alamein Festival in August. The festival has selected the Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) [aka Abu Qerdan in Arabic] as its mascot.

This choice is rooted in the bird's historical association with Egyptian farmers and the ancient Pharaonic civilization. Cattle Egret is known as the friend of the farmer as it traditionally guarded the crops and helped purify the soil, nurturing the growth of young plants.

The Nabta Festival, part of the New Alamein Festival's second edition, unveiled a promotional cartoon titled "The Happy Family" as part of its upcoming activities. This cartoon features characters such as "Tik Tok," "Sesame," "Sonia," and "Rory," produced by Nabta in collaboration with Aroma Studios - Tamer Mortada.

Additionally, Nabta Festival announced a workshop called "Stop Motion," focusing on creating cartoons. In this workshop, children will embark on a creative journey starting from designing their favorite character using Playdough, culminating in directing their own animated film with director Hazem Gouda on August 17.

For the first time in Egypt, experience an extraordinary festival designed exclusively for kids, seamlessly blending fun and learning! The Nabta Festival promises an exhilarating journey featuring games, activities, and interactive workshops led by leading experts in child and family development, according to the official website of the festival.
