Sports Minister, CEO of United Media Services attend impressive concert for Anfoushi band at Alamein Festival

CAIRO – 26 July 2024: Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and CEO and Managing Director of the United Media Services (UMS) Amr El-Fekki have attended the performance of the Anfoushi band for Arabic music at the New Alamein Festival 2024.

The Roman theater in the heritage area of ​​New Alamein City witnessed the musical performance as the culmination of the second week of the General Organization of Cultural Palaces' shows at the festival.

This event was enjoyed as part of the Ministry of Culture's program, presented under the auspices of the minister, Ahmed Fouad Hanno, in cooperation with the UMS.

The Anfoushi band for Arabic music, led by Maestro Haitham Medhat Besiouni, performed a distinguished selection of traditional and national songs in a collective performance during the first part of the concert.

The New Alamein Festival, the largest in the Middle East, is organized by the UMS and runs until the end of August.

This year, the event features vibrant activities in the heritage city and the entertainment area, including specially organized activities for children, traditional and heritage crafts exhibitions, music competitions, and folklore shows.

These impressive shows have made the festival and the entire city a significant tourist destination for thousands of visitors from Egypt and around the world.

Cooperation with UMS

The minister of sports commended the organization of the Alamein Festival by the UMS.

In a speech, he stressed Egypt's support for the Egyptian Paralympic delegation participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics, emphasizing the state's continuous support for people with special needs, especially since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi launched the initiative to empower them over the past decade.

Furthermore, Sobhi reaffirmed that the ministry will hold the league for youth and sports centers during the festival.

He highlighted Egypt's status as an international hub for hosting global events such as the African Cup of Nations and the World Handball Championship.

Sobhi commended the UMS as a strategic partner in conveying the true image of Egyptian sports.

He expressed gratitude to President Sisi and the UMS for making New Alamein City a global destination.
