The Egyptian Ministry of Culture presents a comprehensive program that houses over 100 artistic events at the second edition of the New Alamein Festival.
The collaboration between New Alamein Festival and Egyptian Ministry of Culture aims to display the richness of the Egyptian artistic cultural heritage through multiple of performances, exhibitions, and workshops.
The Ministry of Culture's program at the New Alamein Festival will feature several artistic performances and exhibitions.
The entertainment events will be held every Sunday through Wednesday evening, with a dedicated concert showcasing a selection of artists and artistic groups taking place each Thursday at the Roman Theater in the Heritage City. In addition, the National Circus will present an artistic carnival in the New Alamein entertainment area, and there will be a pavilion displaying traditional crafts from the products of the Traditional Crafts Center in Fustat.
Mobile libraries from the General Egyptian Library will also participate by hosting artistic and cultural workshops for children.
The Ministry of Culture will also have a presence at the "Nabta" Festival for children, which will feature talented young participants who have won Ministry of Culture competitions.
Minister of Culture Ahmed Hanno said that the ministry this year works to significantly increase the number of artistic presentations and exhibition days, presenting more than 100 diverse events that embody Egyptian arts and authentic heritage.
“Our collaboration with the United Media Services at the New Alamein Festival came as part of our belief in the power of art and culture to strengthen Egyptian national identity and raise awareness across society.” Hanno added.
The Egyptian Minister of Culture asserted the festival’s significance as a platform to show the richness and variety of Egyptian culture.
Hanno recounted that the Ministry is continuously supporting initiatives that stabilize Egypt’s position as a global cultural and tourist spot. The Minister added that cultural tourism plays pivotal role in supporting the national economy and creating job opportunities for Egypt youth.

Seventeen troupes affiliated with the General Organization for Cultural Palaces participates in the New Alamein Festival to present a fine selection of artistic and entertainment performances reflecting Egypt’s artistic heritage.
The Ministry program also houses performances by the Nile Folk Music and Singing Troupe, Al-Anfusy for Eastern Rhythms, the Heritage Tanoura Troupe, and the Arab Opera. The first week of New Alamein Festival (July 14-17) displayed artistic performances by the Heritage Tanoura, Arab Opera, and Al-Anfusy for Eastern Rhythms troupes, along with folk art presentations by Al-Horreya Alexandria, Al-Anfusy, and Malawi troupes.
The week’s activities housed as well a concert for the House of the Oud on July 20. The second week (July 21-25) displays artistic performances by the Asyut, Sharqia, Matrouh, and Al-Horreya for Folk Arts troupes, along with the Arab Opera Troupe. The week will end with a concert by the Egyptians Band, conducted by maestro Hani Shenouda, on July 27.
